The Inter Faith Network for the UK has taken the opportunity during Interfaith Week (in the UK) to launch a special new resource for primary schools. It is designed to help increase pupils’ understanding of, and skills for, interfaith encounter, dialogue and action. It focuses on learning about real examples of inter faith engagement, including in their areas.

Freedom of Religion and Belief – Written Resources
The Freedom of Religion or Belief Learning Platform provides resources to help individuals, communities and decision-makers learn, reflect upon and promote freedom of religion or belief for all. It includes resources for personal study and for educators and facilitators to use in group trainings. The core resources have been developed in dialogue with specialists and with reference people from a range of religious and belief backgrounds.

NSW: Hinduism Classes in State Schools
Special religious education (SRE) is education in the beliefs and practices of an approved religious persuasion. Under the NSW Education Act 1990, s. 32, government schools allow time for special religious education. It is delivered by authorised representatives of approved religious groups to students who have nominated that religion. The Hindu Council of Australia is approved to deliver SRE in State Schools.
