Lessons on Ramadan and EidAustralia’s Special Broadcasting Service and the Islamic Museum of Australia present a new educational resource, Lessons on Ramadan and Eid, a lesson resource suitable for Foundation, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Cross Curriculum Priorities, Asia and Australia’s Engagement with Asia.


This SBS Learn teacher resource further students’ understanding of the importance of Ramadan and Eid in Muslim communities in Australia and across the world. These resources can be used alongside the Celebrating Eid materials to deepen understanding about Islamic beliefs and customs. Focusing on creating inclusive classroom environments; these resources are aligned with the Australian Curriculum and free to print and download, providing educators with a range of activities for primary and secondary students.

This teacher resource for Ramadan and Eid includes:

    • Activities to develop an inclusive learning environment
    • Visually engaging infographics suitable for classroom displays
    • A range of primary and secondary scenarios to support respectful discussions around Ramadan and Eid
    • Placemat activity to better understand complex information
    • Flip book research task for student-led learning
    • Colouring in activities

Developed in partnership with the Islamic Museum of Australia, the first centre of its kind in Australia highlighting a range of Islamic arts.
