Human Values for Kids The Adventures in Human Values™ children’s books are based on simple, yet powerful stories centering on human values. Each book is beautifully illustrated and contains positive messages for kids to help them become heroes and change the world around them. The first four series of 9 books are available for reading.

Our values are our guides to action. Values are our codes of internal conduct, the principles upon which we run our lives and make our decisions. Our values are first parlayed to us by our parents, and these are developed, expanded, tested in experience. Other people impress values upon us, such as those values given to us by our childhood friends, our teachers, the wider community. Our moral values can often come from our culture and faith systems. The strongest impression we ever get of human values is the example set by another person.

Human Values are those guides to action (which emerge from within the human, and can be elicited by parents and teachers) which are timeless, that is, they stand the test of time. Truth exists before a child is born, you teach that child to “Tell the Truth” and truth will continue to exist when the person has passed on. There are five timeless human values of Truth, Peace, Righteousness, Love and Non-violence. These timeless values (guides to action) exist within every person and build character.

These five values – in action – can be recognised by other actions we call sub-values. For example, the first series of 9 values e-books for children illustrate Courage, Kindness, Forgiveness, Teamwork, Compassion, Listening, Caring, Self-Confidence and Sharing.
