Bahá’ís all over the world are commemorating 200 years since the birth of the faith’s founder, Bahá’u’lláh, in 1817.
The celebration itself takes place on 21-22 October 2017. Schools across the UK have the opportunity to invite visitors from their local Bahá’í community to present assemblies and classroom sessions about Bahá’u’lláh, his life and teachings. We also hope that teachers and pupils will feel inspired to research the background to this exciting event, and carry out extension activities, both before and after this date.

Two representatives of the UK Bahá’í community presented to a selection of commissioners and members of the public at the first evidence gathering session for the Commission on RE, which took place on 23 February 2017. The main topics addressed in the Bahá’í presentation were the purpose of RE, the scope and content of RE is a changing world.

This new website – Bahá’í RE for Schools – aims to provide good quality and engaging materials to help teachers of RE explore the Bahá’í Faith with pupils across the primary and secondary age ranges. The site provides basic information as well as freely downloadable presentations, lesson plans and schemes, ideas for activities, and links to other online resources.
